The Special Tiffany Jewelry
As known to all, all the women in the world love the diamonds. To get access to the fantastic jewelry with diamond, most of the fans should pay a great amount of money and some other would not.
Police are seeking a jewelry thief dressed as a wealthy Muslim woman who has reportedly silver pendants worth hundreds of thousands of euros from dealers across Europe. The woman, dressed in a headscarf, coat and gold-framed glasses, is suspected of swapping gems for replicas.
The police believe that in one incident in Paris, the woman allegedly stole a 5.5 carat diamond ring worth 635,000 euros. Over a ten year period, the woman has apparently targeted jewelry dealers in Germany, Switzerland and silver earrings The German police link her to jewelry thefts carried out at hotels in Germany and Switzerland during that time. The French newspaper Le Figaro has named her one of Europe's "high magicians" of crime while the the Internationaler Juwelier-Warndienst - a crime prevention network for the European jewelry businesses - has put her on its list of most wanted suspects.
The crime which brought the woman to international attention occurred last September when a 210,000 euro ring was stolen from the silver key rings store in Frankfurt. One of the leads being followed up by police is that the woman may be associated with a family of criminals based in Provence, southern France.
Paloma Picasso -The Jewelry Designer
"People are ready for this now," says jewelry designer Tiffany Accessories, holding a necklace of giant rough aquamarines in her hands. "I would wear it because I like the fact that there is so much light in these stones and that somehow they are not pure, but maybe it's not for everyone." Indeed, after 27 years in business designing her namesake collection of fine jewelry for Tiffany keys, Paloma Picasso, 58, the daughter of Pablo Picasso, has finally seen her passion for bold, large-scale jewelry and colorful, rough-edged stones come into fashion. When she launched her collection in 1980, Picasso had only been dabbling in jewelry design, creating a line of costume jewelry for Bergdorf Goodman and incorporating jewelry into stage outfits she designed for avant-garde productions in Paris. It wasn't until her friend the designer Yves Saint Laurent asked her to make some pieces for his collections that she began to take the craft seriously. Several years later, Tiffany creative director John Loring enlisted Picasso to design a table setting for an exhibition that the jeweler was staging. Soon she was showing Tiffany executives her one-of-a-kind pieces, including a necklace of big hammered-gold balls circled in tiny diamonds that is still part of her collection. Along with Picasso's oversize xmas jewelry featuring chunky aquamarine, citrine or amethyst, she created more accessible--but equally iconic--pieces inspired by graffiti or handwritten x's and o's. "The idea was to create something young and fun and strong," says Picasso. "I wanted to make something that was romantic without being cute." This season she takes the notion one step further, introducing hearts that turn up ever so subtly around the face of a watch.
Tiffany Store Becomes a Tourism Attraction
Many foreign tourists chose to visit New York - the most expensive U.S. city - because the weakened dollar made hotels, food and entertainment more affordable. And the most important is xmas money clips store.
Christopher Heywood, the Director of Travel and Media Relations for NYC & Company, said Europeans are at a special advantage.
"We've seen a tremendous momentum from European markets as a result of the weak dollar," he said. "We've seen a particular increase in markets like the U.K., which saw a 25 percent increase in 2007, and Spain which saw an increase of about 37 percent and Italy which went up 36 percent."
Heywood says foreign tourists are especially important to New York City's tourism market because they stay in the city for longer and spend more money than the average American tourist.
" xmas earrings shopping is one of the big drivers of tourism to New York City," he explained. "Europeans are literally coming here with one suitcase and leaving with two or three. They are getting considerable savings here. And, they are buying up major U.S. brands. They are frequenting stores like Abercrombie & Fitch, they are going to buy xmas pendants, Levis jeans, Apple iPods."
Tourism is one of New York's most important industries. But, visitors to the city fell off after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
In recent years, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has been actively trying to draw visitors back to the city. A global promotional campaign called "This Is New York City," says New York is safer, cleaner and more vibrant.
Tiffany Jewelry Business
Like most moral strictures that are actually obeyed (the classic example: Do not worship a golden calf), this one never impinged on my life-style. It's not as if I toil for a New York City tabloid and have to beg some hard-boiled city editor, "Please, I'll do anything--Madonna, Heidi Fleiss, even Shannen Doherty. Anything but the Trump beat."
But my high-minded aversion to shameless self-promoters vanished with the recent birth of xmas pendants jewelry business. Make no mistake, this is not the beginning of a screed on Family Values left over from last year's Republican National Convention. The way I see it, the marital status of Donald Trump and Marla Maples is a private matter best left to their attorneys, their accountants and their spokesmen. Instead, what fascinated me was their decision to name this blue-eyed baby girl Tiffany.
Even as the lawyers fretted over the child's heir rights, the tabloid tom-toms spread the word that the infant's moniker was a belated art-of-the-deal tribute to real estate air rights. The eponymous Trump Tower was built in 1983 with the help of that patch of Manhattan sky owned by Tiffany & Co. How much more tasteful had the parents simply explained that xmas earrings rhymes with epiphany.
The advertising world is in a swivet because familiar mass-market brand names such as Pampers and Marlboro are suddenly reeling from low-priced generic competitors. Tiny Tiffany, in contrast, symbolizes the enduring cachet of a certain type of luxurious commercial pedigree, xmas key rings. What could be more emblematic of this shopping-obsessed century than a finde-siecle vogue for naming children after favored stores? After all, the latest list of the most popular names for girls already veers toward the comically pretentious, with Nicole, Brittany and Ashley far outpacing plain Jane and simple Susan.
